- What will you do in this role?
- The role is an integration prime for development of circuit pack products. The position is in the Circuit Pack System Design team which is responsible for providing technical leadership for the development of blade level optical transport products for Tier 1 network equipment vendors. This product line is a strong and growing part of JDSU’s communications portfolio and leverages our industry leading vertical integration in the optical transport space.
- As a circuit pack integration prime you will be primarily responsible for driving the HW/SW/optics integration and initial design validation testing activities during the prototype phase of new product developments. This is a fast paced, hands-on role requiring strong knowledge of optical measurements, great teamwork and the flexibility to jump in wherever needed. You will work closely with the product design authority to define the integration strategy and test plan and the broader development team to execute.
- Additional responsibilities include:
- • Development of integration test plans for new products
- • Manage regular meetings to review integration progress with HW, SW and manufacturing
- • Prioritize troubleshooting and problem resolution activities
- • Conducting tests on all functional blocks of prototype units
- • Performing basic optical performance validation testing
- • Calibrating initial unit(s) to validate planned calibration process
- • Construction and maintenance of optical test stations, development of test scripts
- What experience will allow you the greatest success in this role?
- • Bachelor level technical degree, preferred areas of focus would be physics, engineering physics, optical or electrical engineering
- • 3 years experience with optical test and measurement
- • Strong knowledge of optical measurement techniques and equipment is required
- • Basic software development skills for simple test automation, specific knowledge of VB or VB.Net is a strong asset
- • Working knowledge of electronics, ability to read electrical schematics is a strong asset
- • Team player able to work well with different functional groups
